You see, Best Website Hosts is actually the consolidation of two separate web hosting sites into one new one. Both my business partner and I have been involved with internet marketing for a combined 15+ years, with the last few years focused on buying and selling websites and internet properties.

In mid 2011, we had the opportunity to buy two hosting sites that reviewed two of our favorite companies HostGator and Bluehost. After coming up with a strategy to grow the business, we decided it would be best to consolidate the two sites into one so we could focus our efforts. Obviously, this is both a big challenge and a equally large risk. The individual sites ranked extremely well for certain hosting related terms, so there was a bit of hesitation on scrapping the old sites in lieu of this shiny new one. What about the rankings? What about our traffic? Would it all carry over?

After looking at the pros and cons and consulting people much smarter than us, we decided this would be a good long-term strategy (and found out it’s not as detrimental to your SEO as you may think – if done properly). Not only can we focus our efforts on one site and build it to become the best hosting site, we also decided to use this site as a platform to talk about our own journey in dealing with hosting, 301 redirecting all the old content to this new one, looking at the SEO effects, and basically just share the ins and outs of the entire process.

Beyond that, we both have been extremely fortunate in our web pursuits, and we wanted to use this venue to share things that go far beyond just hosting. Our goal from the beginning was to NOT just create another affiliate site where we list of table of recommended companies and send you on your way.

Like you, we realize and understand that what it takes to run and grow a web business is far more than just signing up with a host. It can be a real challenge at times.
